A scanned or photographed signature almost always needs to be tiny. Many government and job-application portals reserve a 10–20 KB band for the signature field, separate from the photo field, and reject anything larger. This tool compresses your signature image under that ceiling in the browser and adds guidance specific to signatures.
For a clean result, crop tightly to the ink and aim for roughly 140×60 pixels — the small, wide shape these boxes expect. A signature is essentially dark ink on a white background, which compresses extremely well, so hitting 20 KB is far easier than with a full photo. If your scan looks grey, raising the contrast so the ink is near-black on near-white keeps it crisp at small sizes.
Compression is best-effort at these tiny targets, but signatures rarely fight it. Nothing is uploaded — your signature stays entirely on your device.
- Upload your scanned or photographed signature.
- Crop tightly to the ink, around 140×60 pixels.
- Boost contrast if the ink looks grey, then target 20 KB.
- Download the compressed signature.
