About Mic Test

A quick microphone check before a Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams call saves the awkward "can you hear me?" opening. This tool asks your browser for microphone permission, then shows a live input meter that moves as you speak — instant confirmation that the right mic is picked up and actually sending audio.

If the meter stays flat, it's usually a permission or device issue. When the browser prompts, choose Allow; if you dismissed it, click the padlock or camera/mic icon in the address bar to re-enable access, and pick the correct input in your system sound settings if you have several microphones.

Crucially, this is only a test: the tool never records, saves, or uploads anything. Your voice is used purely to animate the meter in real time and is then discarded — nothing leaves your device.

How to use Mic Test
  1. Click to start the microphone test.
  2. Choose Allow when the browser asks for permission.
  3. Speak and watch the live input meter respond.
  4. If it stays flat, fix the permission or select the right input device.
